How can we help you?

How can Fivent help me?

How do I make the most out of my finances?

What do I need to know regarding finances?

How do I make smarter investment decisions?

What's behind the scenes?

Where can I learn about the platform?

What is Fivent?

We are a place where you will find tailored expert insight on how to strengthen every dimension of your finances. Our algorithm analyzes your financial position and gives you recommendations on how to achieve the goals that will benefit you the most. You use our recommendations to back your financial decisions and strengthen your economy as a whole. Or in other words, we show you the path, but you make the journey.

Is Fivent a robo-advisor or a broker?

We are neither. You can’t trade in our platform and we do not manage your funds or charge you trading fees. We charge you an affordable flat-rate for unrestricted access to expert financial insight with which you can back your financial decisions and strengthen your position as a whole.

Fivent is to finance what a nutritionist is to food. A nutritionist helps you to understand good nutrition habits in general and also gives you recommendations specific to your health and your goals. Fivent does that but for your finances.

We want to replace the old-fashioned, expensive financial advisors with a technology-enabled platform that will guarantee that everyone has access to affordable, expert financial advice.

What makes Fivent special?

1) We are a true fiduciary

Our aim is neither to sell you products nor to charge you trading fees. That means that our success depends on winning you as a client to our services. Hence, our focus is to add value to you, win your trust and become your chosen long-term financial partner.

2) Technology

Our proprietary technology allows us to give you tailored, expert financial advice that will help you back your financial decisions, strengthen your position and get you closer to your goals. Being a member of Fivent is like booking a financial advisor (except it's faster, cheaper and better).

3) A one-stop-shop

In Fivent you will find resources to make better financial decisions, calculate your Financial Strength Index™, understand your current position and areas you should focus on, choose an investment strategy that is aligned with your goals, learn the basics about managing your personal finances and build a strong financial foundation. We strive to be your place-to-go for any financial advice.

How does Fivent work?

We want to be your long-term financial partner and help you strengthen your finances, because we believe this will enable a greater degree of financial and personal freedom for you.

We provide services focused in three areas:

Planning: understand your position and work towards your goals

Step 1: You answer simple financial questions and our proprietary algorithm will tell you how strong your current financial situation is and which are the weakest areas you should focus on. This is called your Financial Strength Index™ (FSI).

Step 2: You will receive tips and action plans based on your answers. These recommended action plans will help you strengthen the weakest areas shown by your FSI and improve your overall financial position.

Learning: improve your general financial and investment knowledge

We cover different topics that will help you understand the basics, how to set your goals, develop healthier financial habits, control debt and be more prepared for financial downturns.

As for our investment course: investing without knowing the basics is like building a house without a blueprint. You will learn how to get started, the power of compound interest, how to diversify your portfolio and allocate assets, tax implications, what ETFs are, which broker to use and much more.

Investing: back your investment decisions with our financial expertise

You will have access to our tool InvestHub™ with which you will define an investment strategy, risk profile and time horizons aligned to your goals, and use our curated ETF list to back your investment decisions.

How much does it cost?

We follow a Freemium model. That means you can calculate your Financial Strength Index™ (FSI) and enjoy some of our educational resources for free.

You can also purchase our paid services to work deeper into your finances.

  • The Advanced plan costs 40€ (single payment)
  • The Investment course costs 79€

All prices include 21% of VAT. You can find more about what is included in each plan in the pricing page.

Is Fivent for me?

Fivent is not a robo-advisor and will not make the trades for you. Some people may view this as a disadvantage. We view it as the perfect combination of expert financial analysis and flexibility to make your own financial decisions. A nutritionist recommends you what to eat and then you go buy the food in the grocery store or other shops. We do the same for your finances.

We believe Fivent is the best solution for self-sufficient people who:

  1. Are aware of the importance of financial planning, learning and investing
  2. Understand that they would benefit from expert financial advice
  3. Want to have the last word when it comes to their financial decisions and future

If this resonates with you, then Fivent may be the financial partner you are looking for.

How do I get started?

Complete a Questionnaire

Answer simple financial questions in your confidential online profile to calculate your FSI (Financial Strength Index™).

Understand where you are

Based on your FSI we will show you your strengths and 3 priorities you should focus on. You will also have access to resources that will help you improve your financial foundation.

Choose an action plan

With the Advanced plan you will automatically receive personalized action plans and recommendations to achieve your goals.

What is the Financial Strength Index™?

It’s an index that shows how prepared are your finances today to maintain or improve your standard of living in the future. The scores are calculated based on a proprietary model developed by Fivent that analyzes your finances in a variety of areas, including your income, expenses, savings, investments, debt and insurance coverage.

The score goes from 0 to 800. These are the different score ranges we use:

  • Low (0-299): your financial situation is very vulnerable
  • Medium-low (300-449): your financial situation is vulnerable
  • Medium (450-579): your financial situation is stable
  • Medium-high (580-699): your financial situation is strong
  • High (700-800) your financial situation is excellent

Regardless of your starting score, it is important to remember that that is a snapshot of your position at the time of the analysis. It will improve as you progress through your action plan, develop healthier financial habits and make better financial decisions in general.

Will you help me save money and reduce spending?

We are all about helping you create stronger financial foundations today for you to enjoy a greater degree of financial freedom in the future. This starts by helping you improve how you manage your savings and how to develop healthy spending habits.

The Basic plan includes specific guides about:

  • Planning Budgets
  • Controlling debt
  • Managing savings

When you upgrade your plan to Advanced or Premium, you will also have specific action plans to guide you. They will include both the steps to follow as well as the targets to reach a as a part of your overall strategy.

In other words, everything Fivent does will help you directly or indirectly to save money and optimize yourreduce (unhealthy) spending.

Will you help me define my goals?

Your Financial Strength Index™ (FSI) will show you how strong your finances are today in order to maintain or improve your standard of living in the future. Based on your FSI our algorithm will create tailored action plans for you to strengthen your finances.

However, each person’s definition of success is unique and it is up to you to decide how you want your future to look like.

In other words, we will give you the tools and be there for you, but you set the finish line as far as you want.

Will I get specific action plans?

Yes. With the Advanced plan our algorithm will create tailored action plans for you to strengthen your finances. This will include an analysis of each area of your finances, actionable tips, as well as identifying three priorities to focus on with concrete steps to follow.

What are the benefits of financial planning?

Good financial planning is the basis for a greater degree of financial freedom. Some of the main benefits are:

  • Having clear goals in mind
  • Developing healthy financial habits
  • Being prepared for financial downturns
  • Not letting debt overrun you
  • Making smarter investment decisions
  • Increasing personal and financial freedom

Why should I improve my financial knowledge?

To increase your personal freedom.

There are some things that can have a huge positive or negative impact in your life and yet, for some reason, are not taught in school. Finance happens to be one of those things. The lack of basic knowledge can lead to avoidable mistakes with disastrous consequences that will limit your freedom to choose how to live your life.

Therefore, we encourage everyone to -at least- learn the basics. Understanding some concepts, their importance and the impact they have on your financial position will improve your ability to make smarter financial decisions and reduce mistakes.

We believe you should not delegate your financial wellbeing, hence personal freedom, to others. Not in your family, not in your employer, not in the government. The existence of some safety nets sometimes is necessary and even desirable, but ultimately, you should strive to be the master of your destiny.

What will I learn about?

The Basic plan includes access to educational resources about:

  • Planning Budgets
  • Controlling debt
  • Managing savings
  • Understanding investments
  • Selecting Insurances
  • Planning your succession

With our investment course (available just in Spanish) you will learn to invest in a diversified portfolio to accumulate wealth in the long term. At the end of the course you will know:

  • How to invest in stocks
  • How to invest in bonds
  • How to invest in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs)
  • How to invest in index funds
  • How to trade with a broker
  • How to build a diversified investment portfolio aligned with your profile
  • What mistakes to avoid when starting to invest
  • How to avoid being a victim of financial fraud

In what format are the lessons given?

The Educational Resources available in the Basic plan are written guides. Each one focuses on a specific topic and covers all the essential information.

The investment course (available just in Spanish) combines videos and presentations that are complemented by written information.

Why don't they teach this at school?

We believe educational systems anywhere have room for improvement. They should prepare you with the skills you will need during your adult life.

If there is one thing everyone in the world will need to deal with at some point, it is money. Money that you receive from your parents as an allowance, money that you earn, money in the form of inherited assets. Everyone will need to make decisions regarding how to handle money.

This lack of knowledge is the main reason why so many people are overrun by debt, develop unhealthy spending habits, are not prepared for financial downturns or make ill-informed investment decisions that cripple their finances and personal freedom.

What service do you offer?

With the Advanced plan you will have unlimited access to our InvestHub tool. Additionally, we offer an investment course (available just in Spanish) so you can learn how to build your portfolio.

With InvestHub™ you will access tools and resources that will help you make better investment decisions. Among other things, you will be able to:

  • Define your risk profile and time horizons
  • Create an investment strategy aligned with your goals
  • Access our curated list of ETFs

With our investment course (available just in Spanish) you will learn to invest in a diversified portfolio to accumulate wealth in the long term. At the end of the course you will know:

  • How to invest in stocks
  • How to invest in bonds
  • How to invest in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs)
  • How to invest in index funds
  • How to trade with a broker
  • How to build a diversified investment portfolio aligned with your profile
  • What mistakes to avoid when starting to invest
  • How to avoid being a victim of financial fraud

Should I invest, given my financial situation?

When we calculate your Financial Strength Index™ we will analyze many different areas of your finances. Depending on your specific situation, if it is in your best interest, our algorithm will recommend you to work on other areas first, before starting to invest.

What is my risk profile and time horizon?

A risk profile is an evaluation of an individual's willingness and ability to take risks. You will be able to choose from three options:

  • Conservative: A Conservative investor values protecting principal over seeking appreciation. This investor is comfortable accepting lower returns for a higher degree of liquidity and/or stability. Typically, a Conservative investor primarily seeks to minimize risk and loss of principal.
  • Moderate: A Moderate investor values reducing risks and enhancing returns equally. This investor is willing to accept modest risks to seek higher long-term returns. A Moderate investor may endure a short-term loss of principal and lower degree of liquidity in exchange for long-term appreciation.
  • Aggressive: An Aggressive investor values maximizing returns and is willing to accept substantial risk. This investor believes maximizing long-term returns is more important than protecting principal. An Aggressive investor may endure extensive volatility and significant losses. Liquidity is generally not a concern to an Aggressive investor.

Your time horizon is the expected time you are willing to hold onto the assets before you need the money back. You can choose between:

  • Short-term less than 3 years
  • Medium-term 3 to 10 years
  • Long-term more than 10 years

Your risk profile and time horizons are determined by your current financial position, investment knowledge, goals and target dates.

Will you help me create my portfolio?

Depending on your Financial Strength Index™, chosen risk profile and time horizons we will suggest a portfolio structure. That means what percentage of stock, ETF (Exchange Traded Funds), bonds, and other assets we think may be a good fit for you.

To decide which specific asset to choose in each category you will be able to use our curated lists of ETFs to make better-informed decisions.

Your final portfolio structure and which assets you choose are your decision. We recommend that before you make decisions that can have a significant impact on your financial wellbeing you seek advice from a certified financial advisor.

How do I choose my broker?

We provide a list of brokers which we consider to be good options. We based our analysis on a number of factors such as: regulator, customer service, products offered, and fees charged. However, we encourage you to consult other sources or do your own assessment to see which broker fits your strategy better and is available in your region.

Why not choose a robo-advisor?

Let’s be honest. There is nothing wrong with a robo-advisor, it is just a different type of product. It can be a good choice for someone who doesn't value independence and flexibility in his or her investment choices. If you are looking for someone to delegate your investment strategy and decisions, a robo-advisor may be what you are looking for.

On the other hand, if what you are looking for is a long-term financial partner that helps you make your own, well-informed investment decisions, then Fivent may be the kind of partner you are looking for.
